At its April 30 regular meeting the Califon Board of Education approved a consent agenda that bundled routine financial, personnel and policy items, passing the package on a unanimous roll-call vote.
Items approved under the consent agenda included a bill list dated April 30, 2025 totaling $370,955.83; acceptance of the Treasurer’s and Board Secretary reports for February and March 2025; transfers for February and March; and approval to add Security Benefit as an approved vendor for the district 403(b) plan, with officers authorized to execute paperwork to effect the change.
Facilities and safety documentation approved included records of mandated drills: a security drill March 19, 2025; a fire drill April 3, 2025; and a security drill April 28, 2025.
Personnel items approved included appointing Nick Marmorato and Damian Gerock as substitute custodians for the 2024–25 school year at $18.00 per hour pending criminal-history background checks; approval of a medical leave for Employee #201129 from March 21, 2025 through May 31, 2025 with a return date of June 1, 2025; and ratification of a negotiated agreement between the Board and the Califon Education Association.
Policy and curriculum items recorded acceptance of the March 2025 Health Report and first- and second-reading actions for district policies and regulations listed in the agenda. No additional public debate on the consent items was recorded.
