Butler superintendent highlights new consultants, facilities work and state recognitions

The superintendent said these partnerships build on recent local coaching and will provide additional professional development opportunities for teachers.
On facilities, the superintendent said the district submitted a punch list to contractor Grove for the high school addition, is negotiating outstanding elevator-project items with EPIC and Grove, and will open bids soon for a new guidance suite. Officials also plan a spring bid for the final referendum component, a sanitation system at RBS. A ribbon-cutting for the Cardinale Courtyard drew nearly 300 attendees, the minutes say.
The superintendent announced two formal recognitions: Butler Public Schools was designated a Revolutionary School District by the New Jersey Department of Education for innovative social studies practice, and the district received national recognition as a Character Strong Spotlight District for social-emotional learning efforts. The superintendent closed the report on an upbeat note: “It’s going to be a great year.”
