Board awards Maschio's contract, approves Systems 3000 and transportation renewals

On April 30 the Butler Board of Education approved several vendor contracts for the 2026-2027 school year.
The board awarded the food-service management contract to Maschio's Food Services, Inc. for total expenses of $519,304.88, with a monthly-billed flat fee of $26,780 for management and an explicit guaranteed return to the district of $10,000 (subject to assumptions about reimbursement rates, USDA donated food values, required full-service days, and average daily enrollment of at least 1,157 students). The board record states Maschio's will adjust obligations if those operational assumptions are not met.
The board also approved a Systems 3000 professional-services and annual software license agreement for $28,090 for the 2026-2027 school year.
Transportation renewals were approved for Jordan Transportation: an in-district routes renewal at $786,536.70 and a FT/Athletics contract at $207,196.37 for the 7/1/26'–6/30/27 term. Separately, the board approved a parent transportation agreement to transport student #95545 to Academy 360 at a cost of $24,200 for the 2026-2027 year.
Board members discussed those items as part of the finance motions; each contract resolution passed by roll call as recorded in the minutes. The business administrator recommended Maschio's as the most advantageous proposal based on price and other factors included in the procurement record.
