Bound Brook council: bids for 2024 road program come in below expectations; pre-construction to follow

The Bound Brook Borough Council heard that bids for the 2024 road program came in lower than expected and that conditional contract awards will be submitted to the state for concurrence, a presenter told the meeting.

Presenter (speaker 3) said, “The bids came in favorably. I was pleased with the overall price,” and described design alternates built into the project in case available funding required reductions. He said he intends to seek state concurrence quickly so pre-construction meetings can be scheduled and some concrete work could begin before winter weather halts operations.
