GRAFTON — Residents used the public-comment portion of the Jan. 6 council meeting to press village officials on day-to-day municipal services and infrastructure concerns.
Leo Guggenbiller asked when trees planted along Route 57 would be moved and described difficulty getting a dead deer removed from in front of a business, saying calls were bounced between the village and county. Mayor Duke said he would contact a butcher, and Village Administrator Lipian explained that removal responsibility depends on whether the carcass is on a private front yard or on the tree lawn; Lipian said Republic Services would remove the animal during bulk pickup if appropriate.
Bill Baldwin thanked council for allowing him to serve on the planning commission, asked about a power cost adjustment and raised concerns that lighting that illuminates flags at the Veterans Memorial is glaring because of pole angles. VA Lipian said he had delayed a grant application to address new issues at the Veterans Memorial Park and also addressed the power cost adjustment when asked.
Council did not take formal action during the public-comment period, but the administration recorded the concerns and indicated follow-up would be handled by the Village Administrator’s office.
