Silver Creek Township’s maintenance team told the Board of Supervisors on Nov. 7 that it plans to host a maintenance meeting in early 2025 and that a new township truck is expected to arrive in December or January.
Maintenance reported the county approved an extension for remaining grant funds for the 134th Street culvert replacement; the board asked maintenance to reach out to the contractor for an expected completion date. Supervisors agreed that sharing equipment between townships is permitted provided a mutual-aid agreement is signed.
Supervisor Ryan Nelson moved to approve up to $500 for new tires for the current truck; the motion died for lack of a second. Supervisor Andy Christensen said he may be able to donate a set of wheels and tires to get the township through until the new truck arrives.
No timeline for the culvert replacement was set at the meeting; maintenance will follow up with the contractor and the engineer.
