Township starts formal notice for junked property at 3864 150th St NW and hires clerk/treasurer at $27/hour

Vice Chairman Mike Helman told property owner John Haack that the township wanted the 3864 150th St NW property returned to compliance with county ordinance standards and that no additional items from Mr. Haack’s Maple Lake property should be brought to the Silver Creek site. Mr. Haack said he plans to repair the roof and garage doors and is cleaning out the garage.
The board voted to begin the formal notice process outlining the violations and required cleanup, and asked Mr. Haack to report at the board’s Sept. 3, 2024 meeting. The motion to issue the notice was made by Supervisor Helman, seconded by Supervisor Ryan Nelson, and carried 4-0.
Separately, the board approved hiring a candidate for the clerk/treasurer position at $27 per hour with a review at six months and a possible increase to $28 contingent on a positive performance review. Supervisors Helman and Forsman will make the offer; the motion to hire was made by Supervisor Brandon Geyen, seconded by Supervisor Forsman and carried 4-0.
The township provided Mr. Haack with a copy of the county ordinance that governs junk/structure compliance and encouraged him to complete as much cleanup as possible before the September meeting.
