Butler board adopts 2026–27 school calendar, OKs field trips, PD and service providers

At its Jan. 22 meeting the Butler Board of Education adopted the 2026–27 school calendar and approved a package of curriculum- and student-services items.
The board adopted CIS 61-26 (the proposed school calendar for 2026–27) as part of a broader motion that also approved professional development (including a Rutgers Community Youth Mental Health Summit, $42.30 per attendee), field trips (listed with per-student costs for events including Liberty Science Center and a Gettysburg trip), fundraisers such as an RBS Valentine bracelet sale, homebound/bedside instruction for a student, and service-provider contracts.
Dr. Frank Nascimento was approved as a service provider for bilingual Spanish psychological evaluations at $500 per evaluation. The board also approved other vendor and training entries, including Colibri Healthcare for nursing education CEUs ($38.40) and district attendance at the NJ Buildings & Grounds annual conference.
Motions were moved by Curriculum Committee Chair J. Tadros and seconded by H. Oguss; votes were recorded by roll call and the CIS package passed. The board approved the Student Safety Data Systems report covering Sept. 1, 2025–Dec. 31, 2025 as part of the CIS resolutions.
The approved calendar and associated decisions will be implemented by district administrators and program staff; field-trip costs and any fundraising proceeds will be managed according to district policy.
