The Butler Board of Education on Jan. 22 approved a slate of personnel actions including appointments, resignations and retirements.
The board accepted the resignation of Margaret Lynch, Supervisor of STEAM, citing retirement effective June 30, 2026 after 33 years in the district. The board expressed recognition for Lynch’s service as part of the personnel resolutions adopted under PP 24–26.
Among appointments the board approved was Jessica Rosenberg as Confidential Assistant/Coordinator for Student Instructional Services at an annual salary of $65,000, effective Feb. 2, 2026, pending completion of required background checks. The board also approved several substitute employees and extra-duty positions, including Christopher Learn as theatrical choreographer and Niamh Morrison as vocal director for the spring musical (stipend $1,066 each). The board recorded personnel actions for involuntary separations as listed (termination of a paraprofessional) and a custodial resignation with effective dates included in the minutes.
Motions to adopt the personnel resolutions were moved and seconded by committee leaders and passed on roll call with the votes recorded in the minutes. Several hires were approved pending completion of background requirements under state law.
The minutes also record an instructional employee requesting medical leave and estimated FMLA timing; the board included the leave as part of its approved personnel actions. The board did not take additional public comment on personnel items during the meeting.
