Bridgeville council approves routine financial measures, sets budget meeting and ratifies grants and donations

Council approved the Sept. 9, 2024 meeting minutes after adding language clarifying that any zoning-ordinance proposals for Main Street would return to council following planning commission review. The council voted to approve the October bill list, multiple payrolls for late October/early November, and to ratify Resolution 2024-11 authorizing submission of a statewide local share assessment grant application for park/parking lighting improvements.
Council accepted the borough’s 2025 minimum municipal obligation (MMO) to the police pension plan in the amount of $58,900 and adopted Resolution 2024-25 setting police employee pension contribution rates for the remainder of 2024 and 2025. The council also accepted the resignation of Lisa Adams from the Civil Service Commission and set the 2025 budget meeting for Monday, Nov. 4, 2024 at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers.
The council ratified a $4,000 donation to the Bridgeville Public Library using excess proceeds from the community’s Day on the Avenue event to take advantage of a donation-matching opportunity during Library Month. Officials accepted standard monthly reports, including the real estate tax collector commission report and the treasurer’s report.
