Council confirmed two reappointments to the Planning Commission (Westley G. Parks and Connie Rouse) and appointed Randy Wilgis to an unexpired Planning Commission term. The Historic Landmarks Commission membership and term designations were also confirmed and ratified under the city code. Council approved Resolution #2026-006 recognizing accident-prevention measures that enhance city operations.
City Manager Matt DeWitt said Camden received about $13,000 from the Carolina Buy cooperative-purchasing program; the minutes state the city plans to reinvest that rebate into community events and initiatives. Council voted unanimously to enter executive session at 6:10 p.m. to discuss a possible expansion of city utility services and re-entered regular session at 6:20 p.m.; the minutes state no action was taken. The meeting record also lists an adjournment time of 6:07 p.m. in honor of William 'Billy' Nettles III; that adjournment time precedes the executive-session timestamps in the council minutes and appears to be a timing discrepancy within the document.
