The Reinbeck City Council approved a variance Jan. 5 for an ATM lane canopy at the People's Savings Bank after hearing from Alex Bower of Civil Concepts & Development.
Bower told the council the canopy exceeded the allowable overhang setback on the east side of the building and requested a 10—2-foot variance to permit the canopy to sit up to 9—2 feet from the east property line; columns supporting the canopy were within setback requirements. Councilmember Dale Wambold moved to approve the variance and Pease seconded; the motion passed 5-0.
The approval allows the bank to proceed with the canopy at the modified setback; no conditions or appeals were recorded in the minutes. The council did not record any dissenting comments during the discussion.
