Goochland planners announce schedule of upcoming hearings, community meetings

The county planning staff outlined upcoming public hearings and community meetings including Oct. 1 Board of Supervisors hearings (Bandit Ridge, Pleasant Grove Farm), a planning commission hearing for H.H. Hunt (District 5), a Sept. 23 community meeting for an accessory housing proposal at 5344 Duval Road, and an Oct. 30 countywide meeting on industrial park signage at the Administration Building.
Jamie Sherry, director of community development, and Ben Ellis, a county planner, used the Sept. 19 meeting to notify the public of several upcoming hearings and community meetings.
Sherry said the Board of Supervisors will hold three public hearings on Oct. 1, including an application for Bandit Ridge in District 1 (an existing CUP amendment seeking to add an unhosted short-term rental, a restaurant and a winery under 50 acres) and a Pleasant Grove Farm CUP request for an unhosted short-term rental. She said a proffer amendment for Harris McAndrews will be considered in District 3 and that the planning commission will hear a rezoning/proffer amendment by H.H. Hunt, which staff corrected to District 5.
Sherry also announced two community meetings: Sept. 23 at 6:30 p.m. on site at 5344 Duval Road for an accessory housing CUP application by Lester and Kimberly Robbins, and an Oct. 30 countywide meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the Administration Building (1800 Sandy Hook Road) regarding a zoning amendment to allow additional signage for industrial properties within industrial parks.
Sherry asked commissioners and citizens to note the dates and locations; she corrected an earlier district reference during her update. No formal actions were taken during the update.
