Jacqueline Elmo elected board president; Cynthia Rock named vice president and committee rosters approved

At its Jan. 6 reorganizational meeting the Wallkill Valley Regional High School Board elected Jacqueline Elmo president and Cynthia Rock vice president, approved delegates to state and county school boards, and confirmed committee chair and member assignments and administrative appointments.
Jacqueline Elmo was elected president of the Wallkill Valley Regional High School Board at the Jan. 6 reorganization meeting after a roll-call vote following a nomination by Thomas Kabatra. Shortly afterward the board elected Cynthia Rock as vice president after nominations closed and a roll-call vote.
The board approved a slate of delegates and alternates to the New Jersey School Boards Association and the Sussex County School Boards Association, and adopted committee appointments for CASE (Curriculum, Athletics, Student Achievement and Extracurriculars), Finance, Personnel and Policy. Committee chairs and co-chairs were named—including Ralph Bonard as CASE chair and Gina DeSino in several committee leadership roles.
The board also approved administrative designations and professional appointments for the 2026 school year: David Carr as Superintendent of Schools/Principal and IPM coordinator, Joseph P. Hurley Jr. as Business Administrator/Board Secretary and custodian of records, and other compliance and safety roles (Taryn Geuther as ADA/Title IX/504 officer; Adam Vazquez as School Safety Specialist). The board named external vendors for district services, including Nisivoccia LLP as auditor, Parette Somjen Architects as architect, and Scarinci and Hollenbeck as district attorney, listing maximum annual costs where provided.
