Commissioners approved a subrecipient agreement to accept a $750,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) award from the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs for the Telegraph Hill / Riker's Ridge sewer project.
Connie Jackson of the Southeastern Indiana Regional Planning Commission told the board the county attorney, Pat McGrath, had reviewed and signed the agreement and asked that the board president, Mr. Little, sign so the project can move toward construction. Commissioners moved, seconded and recorded the voice vote in favor.
Jackson also said related income surveys had been mailed to randomly selected households in the Riker's Ridge water-service area and to stakeholders for a Jefferson County 4-H Fairgrounds community-center improvement project; the surveys are required to establish CDBG eligibility.
What happens next: County staff said they will execute the signed subrecipient agreement, proceed with CDBG reporting, and coordinate project engineering and procurement steps required to start construction.
