Jefferson County Council approves multiple budget transfers, grants and appointments

The council approved a $20,000 transfer for a replacement prosecutor vehicle, with an insurance check to be applied; approved $100,000 from Public Safety LIT to be distributed evenly to county fire departments for radio equipment; approved a $5,000 reimbursement tied to the prosecutor’s Flock contract; and accepted an $80,147.15 insurance reimbursement related to sheriff vehicles. Ray Black or Pam Crozier made the motions and each vote carried on recorded motions and seconds.
Councilors approved transfers within the Clerk’s budget to cover training, office supplies, equipment and rebinding of records tied to a staff transition. Auditor Heather Huff presented and the council appointed Nick Ellis to the Park Board through Dec. 31, 2028; Heather Foy moved the appointment and Pam Crozier seconded. The council also approved allocation of $300,000 in casino revenue for road repair.
The body voted to approve Resolution 2026‑12 for $687,067.15 (motion by Ray Black; second by Pam Crozier). Most motions on the agenda were approved on 7–0 votes; the ambulance contribution vote (separate article) included one abstention.
