Morrison board adopts library support and welcome-sign resolutions; minutes approved, pond trash complaint discussed

The Town of Morrison Board of Mayor and Aldermen unanimously adopted two resolutions and completed routine business at its Oct. 6 meeting at Morrison Town Hall.
Resolution No. 2025-01, expressing the town’s continued operation and support of the Morrison Public Library, was moved by Vice Mayor Donald Miller, seconded by Adam Bouldin, and adopted unanimously. Resolution No. 2025-02, expressing approval and intent to install welcome signs within the town limits, was moved by Jeannine Miller, seconded by Donald Miller, and adopted unanimously.
Earlier in the meeting, the board dispensed with the reading of the Sept. 2 minutes and approved them as written after a motion by Adam Bouldin and a second by Jeannine Miller. There were no public commenters signed up to speak.
Under new business, Mayor Sue Anderson updated the board on a complaint about trash in a pond behind Jack Odom’s property on Manchester Highway. Codes Enforcement Officer Stan Phillips said he had been in contact with Mr. Odom, who was reported to be expected to have the trash hauled off and the pond filled with dirt.
The meeting closed after a motion to adjourn by Adam Bouldin, seconded by Jeannine Miller; the motion carried and the meeting adjourned at 7:24 p.m.
