The Town of Morrison Board of Mayor and Aldermen on Sept. 2 accepted bids and authorized several maintenance and signage actions during its regular monthly meeting.
The board voted unanimously to accept the Cripps Roofing bid of $15,622.25 to replace the Morrison Library roof. Vice Mayor Donald Miller moved to accept the Cripps bid and Jeannine Miller seconded; the motion carried unanimously. Minutes list four other bidders and their amounts but record Cripps Roofing as the successful bidder.
The board also accepted the only bid received for "Welcome to Morrison" signs. Davis Signs submitted a $3,200 bid; Adam Bouldin moved to accept the Davis Signs bid, Jeannine Miller seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
On unfinished business, Mayor Sue Anderson reported Fire Chief Aaron Roberts said the rescue truck needed new tires; Bridgestone might donate the tires or they could be purchased at cost. Vice Mayor Donald Miller moved to authorize Chief Roberts to proceed with procuring the tires by whatever feasible means and Adam Bouldin seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
The board approved making a 4'x8' sign reading "Morrison Fire & Rescue Station II" (to be produced by Genia's Signs) and also approved a small sign at Morrison Park advising visitors to keep the playground gate closed; both actions were approved unanimously on motion.
Jeannine Miller, Adam Bouldin and Mayor Anderson agreed to conduct employee evaluations on Sept. 9, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. The meeting adjourned at 7:26 p.m.
The minutes list bidders and bid amounts for the library roof and welcome signs; they do not record any public comment on the procurement decisions.
