Mayor Aaron Ash, Mayor Pro Tem Joe McDowell and Interim Town Administrator Trey Eubanks said representatives from Covell — a company that provides pressure sewer systems — have met with the town engineer and discussed pressure systems, package treatment systems and phased implementation approaches. Upcoming meetings are being coordinated with Spartanburg Water and the City of Inman to discuss capacity, partnerships and operational coordination.
Officials said the town will consult municipalities already using similar systems, including Honea Path and Belton, to learn about maintenance, performance and long‑term costs. Council emphasized that research is ongoing, that affordability and maintenance considerations are key, and that the issue ultimately depends on resident preferences; a public meeting will be scheduled to collect community input.
Next steps: staff will continue vendor and intergovernmental meetings, arrange presentations by company representatives at future council meetings as requested, and schedule a public meeting for resident feedback.
