Council honors longtime water operator, youth football champions and Eagle Scout

Council read a resolution honoring Lonnie Boatright for 44 years of service and recognizing his selection as the South Carolina Rural Water Association's 2025 Water Operator of the Year.
Council also presented a resolution congratulating the Batesburg-Leesville bantam football team for winning the Lexington County Youth Football League championship and acknowledged coaches and the team's parents. Cynthia Ethridge, identified as the youth football president, was present for the recognition.
Eagle Scout Braden McCormack returned to give a brief report on his project; he said volunteers planted roughly 16 trees (eight dogwoods and eight maples) and described ongoing watering and maintenance plans.
Council framed these items as community recognition and celebration; no formal council actions were required beyond ceremonial resolutions.
