At one point a council member suggested a motion to pay for landscaping to address the complaint, but the motion "didn't get a 2nd, so it went down," the chair said on the record. The chair also explained that, absent council action, the resident’s next recourse would be to seek legal counsel or to ask the council to introduce a resolution at a subsequent meeting.
Council members noted the difficulty of responding in a single meeting without further review of prior work and liability; staff said they would consider bringing a resolution forward if a councilmember formally sponsored it at a later session. No council-funded remediation was approved at the meeting.
