The Quinton Township Board of Education on May 8 approved the district—s fiscal year 2025—6 budget, adopting a final budget resolution that the board said is within the statutory cap and reflects a 3.9% increase in the local tax levy.
The adopted total base budget is $9,044,269, with the General Fund budget listed at $7,933,368 and the General Fund local tax levy shown as $3,617,445. The board also noted an additional $619,048 in Tax Levy Incentive Aid previously approved on April 9, 2025 and described that award as pending New Jersey Department of Education approval.
Joanne Nacucchio moved the motion to approve the presented and advertised 2025—6 budget; Michael Sites seconded. The resolution also authorized submission of a revised budget resolution to account for the maximum allowable and spent-to-date travel and related expense reimbursements. The motion carried on a roll call vote with seven ayes (Jeannette Harrington, Joseph Longo, Zachary Mayer, Joanne Nacucchio, Tracy Scull, Michael Sites and Lawrence Winkels), no nays and no abstentions.
The budget hearing included a public-comment opportunity; speakers raised unrelated operational and student-safety concerns (see separate coverage). The board noted that the budget has received Salem County Office of Education approval; final administrative approval from the New Jersey Department of Education remains pending.
The board did not set a separate implementation timetable at the meeting; any adjustments tied to NJDOE approval or grant reconciliation will be reflected in subsequent board documents.
