Cranford introduces parking ban on Chester Lang Place; final hearing set for Feb. 17

The Township Committee introduced Ordinance No. 2026-01 on Jan. 20, which would amend Chapter 410, Section 66, Schedule XIII of the Township Code to prohibit parking at all times on Chester Lang Place from Walnut Avenue to Lexington Avenue. The ordinance was read by title only by Township Clerk Patricia Donahue. Commissioner Gina Black stated she would vote "no" on the ordinance’s introduction and requested more information before adoption consideration. The ordinance was introduced on first reading and the committee scheduled a final reading and public hearing for Feb. 17, 2026; publication was set for Jan. 29, 2026 in the Westfield Leader.
No formal vote to adopt was taken at the Jan. 20 meeting; the introduction proceeds to the public hearing process required by law.
