Board considers bylaw changes for email elections and hears dam construction update

Members discussed proposed changes to the association's bylaws to allow a new management company to send invoices and run elections by email and to move the dues due date from Jan. 1 to March 1. Papers describing the proposed changes were distributed and the board said the revisions will go out to the community for a vote along with invoices and a request for email addresses to support future electronic billing and elections.
Some residents asked how the proposed bylaw changes relate to a court order. Steve Slimm said an attorney is drafting the changes and that, when complete, they will be submitted to a judge; he stated the board is not breaking the court order.
On infrastructure, the board reported that dam construction is advancing. The board approved adding gabion mats to the project but said it is still awaiting design approval from Beth Ann and does not yet know how many ACVs will need to be flipped.
A grounds maintenance note: fence signs were added at the dam and a volunteer work detail is scheduled at Second Beach to clean lake beds.
