Ramsey honors four high-school students with civic commendations for heroic actions

The Borough of Ramsey on Sept. 10 recognized four Ramsey High School students — Trevor Broking, Luke Filipone, Mason Gonzalez and Liam Mueller — with a joint legislative resolution and ceremonial commendations for heroic actions earlier this summer.
Mayor Drew Dylan and several council members praised the students for their calm response and public-spirited behavior. "They were so coolheaded that night," Mayor Dylan said, calling their actions reflective of Ramsey and the local schools. Council members applauded and posed for photographs with the honorees.
The presentation took place near the start of the meeting and included a brief photo opportunity. Council members and the mayor also thanked borough staff and emergency services for their coordination at Ramsey Day and noted that the ceremony acknowledged the students’ contributions to public safety.
No further action was required; the recognition was ceremonial.
