Ramsey approves consent agenda, appoints Michael Santangela and completes housing trust payment

At the Nov. 12, 2025 meeting the Borough of Ramsey approved its consent agenda, which included several resolutions (Res. 196–204), the appointment of Michael Santangela to the Ramsey Rescue Squad and a $250,000 transfer from the borough's affordable housing trust fund to Ramsey Housing, Inc.
The mayor described the $250,000 transfer as the final payment on a six-unit special‑needs housing project across from the police department. "This money does not come out of tax dollars; it's actually from construction fees and we by law have to put the money into the trust fund and we can only use the money in the trust fund for specified things," the mayor said, noting that five residents from Ramsey and one resident from Allendale are slated to move in on Jan. 1.
Council also approved a special‑event permit request from Boy Scout Troop 31 to post signage for a Christmas tree sale from Nov. 24 through Dec. 15 and accepted the retirement of Jack Dagistorio, borough DPW superintendent. The consent items passed by roll call without substantive debate.
