The Borough of Ramsey used part of its Jan. 28 meeting to recognize the Ramsey High School girls soccer team and to record personnel appointments.
Councilmembers congratulated the team for an "unbelievably terrific season culminating [in a] state championship," noting townwide pride in the undefeated squad. Coaches and team captains attended the meeting and were thanked for their work and for representing the borough.
On personnel actions, the mayor and council announced the appointment of Derek Bellen to the Ramsey Fire Department Junior Fire Brigade. The council also confirmed Aiden Brewer as a permanent police officer of the Ramsey Police Department; the administrator said the confirmation follows a one-year probationary period and the recommendation of Police Chief Pereizy, and is effective on Brewer's one-year anniversary on Dec. 11, 2025.
The meeting included no public commenters on the record. The council completed standard committee and liaison reports, with multiple members again thanking DPW and emergency services for recent storm response. The meeting adjourned after the consent resolutions were approved.
The recognition and confirmations were informational and ceremonial; there were no contested personnel votes or public hearings on the items at the Jan. 28 session.
