Superintendent Dr. Alex Anemone provided a mid-summer operational update at the July 25 meeting, calling district staffing "fluid" as resignations and retirements continue and recruitment proceeds. Administrators participated in a recent two-day session that included training on multiple topics, among them a seminar on artificial intelligence tools.
Dr. Anemone said the district ordered iPads for board members to facilitate a transition to BoardDocs; paper agendas will continue to be provided on request as the district phases toward reduced paper use. He also reported that Energy Savings Implementation Program (ESIP) projects, including replacement air-conditioning units in the high school gymnasium, remain under construction and that the new district website is not yet complete.
Dr. Anemone announced a three-part strategic planning process for the fall, with invitations to the board, the mayor and community stakeholders to be sent in August and the first session scheduled for September.
