Hartsville — On Nov. 10 the Hartsville City Council approved Resolution 112501, authorizing an addendum to the interjurisdictional agreement with the Darlington County Water and Sewer Authority for wastewater treatment services.
Staff told the council this addendum is not a routine renewal but addresses enforcement when a party is out of compliance; staff said the wording mirrors language used in an earlier interjurisdictional agreement and that the requirement came from DES (a state agency). Council members asked no further questions and approved the resolution by voice vote.
The resolution was presented and voted on at the meeting; staff noted the city’s ordinance already contains comparable provisions and the addendum places the enforcement language in the interjurisdictional agreement as requested by state regulators.
