Riverside confirms Fire District No. 1 commissioner salaries, approves consent items

At its Sept. 16 meeting the Riverside Township Committee recorded its concurrence with the Board of Fire Commissioners of Fire District No. 1 on the district's adopted compensation schedule for commissioners for the 2025 fiscal year, as set out in Resolution 2024‑#100.
The Fire District documents attached to the agenda (Board Resolution 2024‑05) specify annual compensation levels for commissioners: Chairman $1,700; Treasurer $3,600; Secretary $2,100; and two Commissioners at $1,600 each. The Board's resolution states the compensation is set pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:14‑88 and is forwarded to the municipal governing body for review and concurrence; the Township Committee indicated its concurrence on the consent agenda vote.
The Committee also approved the remainder of the consent agenda: authorization for Kidsunited FC to use AA and/or Whomsley Field as scheduling permits and Pack 234 to hold family camping at the Progress Lot, and the temporary appointment of Dominick Allen as a public works laborer for the 2024–2025 school year. All consent items passed on a single motion; the vote among members present was unanimous.
