Rockaway Borough board approves $1.8 million, five-year managed IT contract and accepts auditor CAP

The Rockaway Borough Board of Education on Jan. 20 unanimously approved a five-year managed information technology agreement with Complete Care totaling $1,798,995 and accepted a corrective action plan responding to the district auditor’s findings, officials said.
The IT agreement, procured through the 2025–26 NJ Edge Co‑Op contract #00278834, spans five 12‑month periods. Year one (Feb. 1, 2026–Jan. 31, 2027) lists an annual service amount of $335,799 plus a $120,000 set‑up fee; years two through five are each $335,799, for a five‑year total of $1,798,995. The resolution cites N.J.S.A. 18A:18A‑5 for cooperative purchasing authority.
Board members also voted to accept the 2024–2025 Corrective Action Plan submitted in response to audit findings from the public accounting firm Lerch, Vinci & Bliss of Fair Lawn, N.J. The board’s action formally records acceptance of management’s planned corrections to audit recommendations.
The meeting packet also included authorization to apply for a $10,000 Sustainable Jersey for Schools Small Grant to create two outdoor learning zones that would add native landscaping, green infrastructure and stormwater management to district grounds for instructional use.
All of the above items were included in the meeting’s consent agenda and were approved in a single motion moved by Vice President Jennifer Dahl and seconded by Vanessa Dorgilles. A roll‑call recorded five ayes and no nays.
Separately, the board’s financial materials listed the payrolls and bills and claims manifest covering Dec. 10–Jan. 20 with a stated amount of $791,098.62; the board accepted the Board Secretary’s and Treasurer’s financial reports for December 2025 and certified that no budget line items were over‑expended in violation of the cited NJAC provisions.
The board also received two superintendent HIB (Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying) determinations submitted for acceptance: tracking number 299800_TJM_11192025 (conclusion: founded) and tracking number 298041_TJM_10212025 (conclusion: unfounded). The board moved to accept the superintendent’s HIB decisions as presented.
The board scheduled its next regular meeting for Feb. 24, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. in the Thomas Jefferson Middle School cafeteria.
