The Rochelle Park Board of Education on Dec. 5 approved two personnel resolutions that name an interim business administrator/board secretary and a prorated business administrator/board secretary, with both contracts subject to Executive County Superintendent approval.
Board President Matthew Trawinski opened the meeting and the personnel items were presented "upon the recommendation of the Superintendent," according to the minutes. Resolution P1 approves Beverly Vlietstra as Interim Business Administrator/Board Secretary effective Jan. 1, 2025 through Feb. 2, 2025, with contract approval contingent on the Executive County Superintendent. Resolution P2 approves Michele Rainere as Business Administrator/Board Secretary for the 2024–2025 school year (prorated), likewise pending county approval.
Dr. Sue DeNobile, the district superintendent, is recorded in the minutes as having recommended both appointments. The minutes show the motion language and a subsequent notation: "Motion Mr. Kral, Second Ms. Holz Roll Call 5-0 Motions Carried," indicating the board voted unanimously in favor on a recorded roll call of 5–0. The minutes do not itemize individual yes/no votes by name beyond the roll-call total.
Both contracts were described in the minutes as "pending approval by the Executive County Superintendent," a routine step for certain board-level contracts under county oversight. The minutes also note district staff present at the meeting, including Dr. James Riley, Business Administrator/Board Secretary (listed among others present), and record that no members of the public addressed the board during the public-comment periods.
The board announced its next regular meeting for Dec. 17, 2024, at 7:30 P.M. in the Midland School Gymnasium, with an executive session scheduled at 6:30 P.M. prior to that meeting. The special meeting adjourned at 6:21 P.M.
