The Wenonah Mayor and Council approved a series of routine resolutions and first readings at Wednesday’s meeting.
Council approved resolution 202663, authorizing the governing body’s certification of the 2025 annual audit. The council also approved resolution 202664 in support of participating in a Sustainable Community Grant with Atlantic City Electric and resolution 202665 authorizing submission of a New Jersey Department of Transportation municipal-aid application for roadway improvements to South Princeton. Council approved insertion of $7,287.27 into the municipal budget for the Clean Communities chapter 159 grant (resolution 202666).
On ordinance business, the council gave first readings to ordinance 202611, amending residential development fees, and ordinance 202612, a capital appropriation of $250,000 from a HUD grant; the public hearing for both ordinances was scheduled for the next council meeting on July 23.
The council also approved multiple community event permits and street closures: a one-hour admission-fee waiver for a Winona Lake Association floating event on July 4; a song-and-dance event on Sept. 19, 2026; a haunted-trail event on Oct. 24, 2026; a street closure for the women’s club turkey truck on Nov. 27 (approx. 8:30–11:30 a.m.); and a Holiday Market street closure on Dec. 5 with a rain date of Dec. 6. Each item passed following motions, seconds and roll-call or voice approval as recorded in the minutes.
No final adoption votes were taken on the ordinances at first reading; funds appropriated via chapter 159 were recorded as inserted into the budget during the meeting.
