Engineer: NJDEP letter does not require immediate Memorial Lake Dam repairs; borough proceeding with maintenance

Engineer Erik Biermann told the Woodstown Borough Council on Jan. 27, 2026, that a letter from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection regarding Memorial Lake Dam was informational and did not require immediate repairs. Biermann advised the borough to continue routine maintenance and monitoring while the issue remains under advisement.
Biermann reported Public Works had addressed and filled a sinkhole on West Wilson. He also said the Mount Folwell Standpipe had a contractor-installed roof repair completed in lieu of a full replacement; the repair was described in the minutes as expected to last about five years. Biermann added that borough staff are working with an electrical contractor to bring electric service to the water tower.
Regarding communications infrastructure, Biermann said AT&T had expressed interest in antenna upgrades and line relocations; T-Mobile has also inquired about antenna and wire upgrades and is considering installing a generator near the base of the water tower. Council did not record a formal action on carrier requests during the meeting; the items were presented as informational and, per the minutes, remain under review.
