The Woodland Park Board of Education reorganized on Jan. 2, 2025, at the Municipal Building, where Mayor Kallert swore in newly elected trustees Shannon Marren, Andrew Mingione and Mark Salemi. The board then elected its leadership for 2025 and approved its calendar for the year.
The Board Secretary called for nominations for president. A motion by Mark Salemi, seconded by Julissa Rodriguez, nominated Glen Grimes for president; the board approved the nomination by roll call, 9 yes. The board then nominated Shannon Marren for vice president in a motion by Glen Grimes, seconded by Kim Galbraith; that nomination also passed by a 9-0 roll call.
Under a motion by Marren, seconded by Galbraith, the board approved its 2025 meeting calendar. The calendar records regular meetings at the Municipal Building and several workshops at Memorial School, Beatrice Gilmore and Charles Olbon, and lists a tentative budget hearing on April 14, 2025. The minutes show the roll calls on the three motions returned unanimous support from the nine members present.
Those listed present for the reorganization meeting were Kim Galbraith, Shannon Marren, Dave Ammanullah, Glen Grimes, Julissa Rodriguez, Gina McQuin, Andrew Mingione, Mark Salemi and Joe Giammarella (via Zoom). Also present were Michele Pillari, Dwayne Ortiz and Alyssa Weinstein.
The board's next listed meeting is a regular session on Jan. 13, 2025.
