The Rockaway Borough Board of Education voted unanimously on Nov. 18, 2025, to approve its consent agenda, which included multiple personnel appointments, a retirement, amended extracurricular stipends and routine administrative actions.
Board President Edward Graf opened the public meeting and the board moved the consent agenda as a single motion; the minutes record that "ALL MOTIONS PASS." Roll-call recorded affirmative votes from Mrs. Faride Hernandez, Mrs. Vanessa Dorgilles, Mr. Brian Rivieccio, Ms. Jennifer Dahl and Mr. Edward Graf.
Key personnel actions approved included the appointment of Selina Burgos as a district paraprofessional eligible to serve as a substitute teacher for 2025–26; approvals for substitute teachers Kamryn Koerner and Shawn Robertson (temporary dates noted); the appointment of Sophia Rosso as a substitute paraprofessional at a $90 per diem rate; and the hiring of Jamie Vergara as a lunchroom aide (hourly rate $16.23), pending required background checks. The board accepted the resignation of Helen Love, instrumental music teacher, effective Jan. 1, 2026, for the purpose of retirement and rescinded her previously approved extracurricular advisor appointment. The board also approved a change of assignment for Nicolas Bova to Instrumental Music Teacher effective Jan. 1, 2026, through June 30, 2026, at his current annual salary.
The meeting packet included multiple professional-development and travel requests; the board approved those reimbursements and related purchase orders as presented, with justification tied to district instructional and safety priorities. The board also approved submission of the Annual Facilities Comprehensive Maintenance Plan and M-1 worksheets for the 2026–27 school year.
The actions were presented by Superintendent A. Grieco and the business office; all personnel hires and contract-related items were noted as contingent on successful completion of the background checks required by state law.
