Board reviews enrollment, approves personnel moves and fall field trips

Personnel approvals: The board approved a bundle of personnel motions including professional development/travel requests; new-teacher mentor/buddy fees (examples: Lauren Bogart $275, Bryanna Dennison $137.50); extracurricular advisor stipend for Girls Basketball assistant coach Amy DeFelice ($971); approval of substitute teacher Ebony Carter and floating substitute Jacob Hall at $125/day (pending required background checks); re-employment of IT intern Alex McBride at $16.23/hour; substitute school nurses at a per diem rate of $250; and hiring of paraprofessional Bindu Amos at the 25/26 Step-1 hourly rate of $17.95 pending background checks. The board also approved additional instructional periods at $53.62 per additional period for listed staff members and an ESL services agreement with Jerelyn Hurley (not to exceed 4.5 hours per week at $40.31/hour, funded by ESEA where specified).
Curriculum and events: The board approved the 2025-26 field trip and events calendar, including an 8th-grade trip to Pocono Valley/Stroudsburg, multiple Oct. field trips to local museums and farms, the TJ musical (March 2026), concerts and scheduled dances. Per-pupil costs and participant counts were included in the packet for each trip.
Public questions during the hearing included when meeting recordings would be posted and whether the district would immediately replace a vacated math intervention position; the administration indicated posting of recordings was expected within a few days and that replacing the math intervention role would await enrollment/projection review at the end of the month (the transcript does not attribute those answers to a named speaker).
