Board approves pergola at 91 Blueberry Drive; applicants say impervious area won’t increase

The Woodcliff Lake Land Use Board unanimously approved an application to add a 20-by-24 pergola at 91 Blueberry Drive after the applicants testified the structure will be placed over existing pavers and will not increase impervious surface.
Applicants Ariel and Morgan Maser presented plans and exhibits showing the pergola footprint and site survey. Morgan, the applicant’s engineer, testified the pergola will be open on all sides, will be built atop existing pavers and may ultimately reduce impervious area because some pavers along the side will be removed.
Board members had no substantive objections, and no members of the public spoke against the application. The board moved and unanimously approved the pergola application. The applicants were reminded to install gutters and to tie down roof drainage to the approved grading plan as needed.
The board adjourned after completing the item.
