Board approves resignations, new hires and internships ahead of 2025–26 school year

The board accepted resignations including William Rzucidlo (Physical Education teacher, effective Sept. 1, 2025), Kaila West (Leave of Absence School Counselor, effective Sept. 1, 2025), Brenda Burrow (Paraprofessional, effective Aug. 6, 2025) and Afsheen Waseem (Paraprofessional, effective Aug. 7, 2025). The board also approved renewals for executive, administrative, tenured and non-tenured staff listed in the agenda.
New hires and appointments approved include Veronica Aiello (Speech & Language Specialist, effective on or about Aug. 27, 2025, salary MA-7 $66,945 prorated, pending background checks), Michelle Civello (Paraprofessional/Floating Substitute Teacher, daily rate $125.00), Ryan Ruane and Nicholas Carlotti (Paraprofessionals at hourly rate $17.95), Maria Duque Roldan (evening custodian reassigned as Paraprofessional, same duties, hourly rate per Aide/Guide Step-1), Rosely Caliendo (World Language teacher, salary BA-1 $57,915 prorated, pending certification), Shawn Robertson (Leave Replacement Special Education Teacher through Nov. 3, 2025), Marie MacLeod (Leave Replacement School Counselor through Dec. 5, 2025), Neal Healy (part-time district P.E. teacher at 80% of BA Step-1), Eric Kovacs-Schrader (custodian) and Christine DeCagna (substitute teacher). The board also approved a substitute bus driver appointment (Scott Schafran at $30/hr), internship placements from Morris County School of Technology, and new teacher mentor-buddy and extracurricular advisor appointments as listed in the agenda packet.
Most personnel items were approved as part of the consent agenda; each new hire is listed as pending successful completion of required Criminal History background checks and Sexual Misconduct/Child Abuse disclosures where applicable (P.L. 1986 c.116; P.L. 2018 c.5).
