Board okays 2024 meeting calendar, annual report and a resolution for 240 Broadway

Board members moved the May meeting from May 27 to May 20 to avoid the day after Memorial Day, adjusted November and December meeting dates and approved the amended calendar by voice vote. The annual report — described as a summary of roughly 18 applications handled by the board over the reporting year — was presented and approved for transmittal to the governing body.

The board also considered a resolution to approve an application for 240 Broadway. The attorney for that application circulated a corrected page that restated the variances and incorporated minor, non‑material edits requested by the applicant’s counsel; the board accepted the revision and approved the resolution as modified, noting that the resolution’s written conditions constitute the compliance requirements.

During discussion about routine items, board members emphasized local traffic concerns and suggested the governing body be notified or asked to coordinate with county and regional planning authorities where off‑site intersection improvements may be necessary. The board also noted the police department’s review comment regarding parking stall dimensions and said final plan notations should address any agency recommendations.

The meeting proceeded to the evening’s major land‑use hearings after approving the calendar, annual report and the 240 Broadway resolution.
