Rochelle Park board hires Michele Rainere as interim business administrator, raises aide pay to $15.49

The Rochelle Park Board of Education on Dec. 17 approved the appointment of Michele Rainere as Business Administrator/Board Secretary for the period beginning on or about Jan. 13, 2025 through June 30, 2025. The board's resolution notes the contract was submitted to and approved by the Interim Executive County Superintendent pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:7-8(j). The board also rescinded a prior interim appointment for Beverly Vlietstra.
Personnel actions approved in the P1–P7 block included multiple staff appointments, coach/advisor stipends, and leave authorizations. Among personnel items, the board approved a cafeteria/playground aide pay increase to $15.49 per hour effective Jan. 1, 2025 "in accordance with the New Jersey minimum wage increase." The personnel block (P1–P7) carried on a 5-0 roll call.
The minutes record that Dr. James Riley will remain with the district through Dec. 31, 2024 and that Rainere is scheduled to "take over for Dr. Riley on Jan. 13, 2025." The P1 resolution authorized the board president and board secretary to execute the employment agreement.
All personnel resolutions were adopted unanimously by the five voting trustees present.
