Rochelle Park board authorizes $325,000 capital transfer and awards contracts to replace Midland School multipurpose room floor

The board awarded the gym-floor removal contract to Plymouth Environmental Co., Inc. (Norristown, PA) after opening three bids; the lowest responsive bid totaled $144,000 with an Additive Allowance #1 of $20,000, for a $164,000 contract. The board directed its attorney and architect to draft the agreement and authorized the board president and secretary to execute the contract once the company furnishes required documentation.
Separately, the board approved a $113,836 proposal from Mathusek Incorporated of Oakland, N.J., to install a Herculan 7&2 Pad and Pour multi-function floor system. The installation will be procured through the ESC of Hunterdon County cooperative purchasing program (Commercial Floor Covering & Related Services #215).
The multipurpose room scope also includes painting and other fixture work: Northeastern Interior Services was approved for painting at $33,917; Modernfold Styles received approval for partition panel removal and replacement at $18,493; and Tachinelli Sports for bleacher removal/replacement at $4,500.
The board rescinded a prior consultant approval for Garden State Environmental and approved Pennoni Associates, Inc. for mercury remediation consulting services in support of the floor project at $17,200.
The motion approving the related finance and contract items was bundled with other finance items and passed 4–0 on roll call. The board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for Aug. 27, 2024; the work schedule and contractor start dates were not specified in the meeting record.
