Board approves ESY staffing, therapy contracts and out-of-district placements for special education services

At its April 29 meeting the Woodland Park Board of Education approved staffing and vendor contracts to support special education services, including the Extended School Year (ESY) schedule and outside-provider agreements.
The board approved ESY programming for multiple special education tracks (Autism Program, Preschool Disabilities, LLD programs) with named teachers, aides, nurses and related-service providers, and approved vendor contracts to provide speech, physical therapy and evaluation services as needed. The board approved a contract with Best of You Therapy for speech services at a rate of $100 per hour (ESY not to exceed 3.5 hours per day), and NRESC contracts for PT services for the 2026 ESY program and the 2026–27 school year (including a 2026–27 PT contract for $96,130.63). The board also ratified LearnWell contracts for virtual instruction (rates listed at $72/hr. and a specific $63/hr. placement), and approved out-of-district placements including a McKinney-Vento placement with Pequannock BOE prorated at $21,253.20 for January–June 2026 and other special education placements and costs documented for ESY and the upcoming school year.
