Middleville DDA approves budget adjustments, retreat and event spending

The Middleville Downtown Development Authority on Aug. 5 approved a series of budgetary and event requests intended to support operations and outreach.
The board voted to adopt a budget adjustment reflecting an additional $2,400.75 in interest income and to reallocate funds to cover wages and related benefits after a new job description changed how costs are shared. Tim Dencham moved the motion to adopt the budget adjustment; the motion was seconded and passed on a roll-call vote with members present voting in favor.
The board also approved a not-to-exceed $250 allocation for a board retreat to cover food and nonalcoholic beverages, and voted to fund a Developer Day (not to exceed $1,250) planned for Sept. 15 to produce marketing materials and host lunch for prospective developers. Director staff additionally gained approval to cover registration fees for a multi-session professional development certification (scheduling and travel to be addressed in a later budget amendment).
All motions reported at the meeting were passed by roll call. No formal motions to rescind or amend these approvals were recorded at the meeting.
Why this matters: the approved adjustments and event spending are intended to support recruitment, outreach and capacity building for DDA activities; the Developer Day is positioned to attract prospective tenants or buyers for priority village properties.
