The University City Council reappointed Amy Gaskin and John Soladar to the parks commission and amended a listed special one-year term to a full term for an appointee identified only as James, citing his recent selection as commission president and prior service. The nominations were made by Council Member Stephen McMahon, seconded, and approved by voice vote.
Council also noted that Ethan McCullum was sworn into the board of appeals on Dec. 2 in the clerk’s office. The consent agenda (items K1–K7) was approved without discussion on a motion by Council Member Teeman and second by Council Member Clay.
Later in the meeting, on a motion by Council Member Fuller and second by Council Member Briner, the council voted to enter closed session under Missouri statute (Mo. Rev. Stat. §610.021) to discuss legal actions and confidential personnel records and performance ratings. The clerk called the roll and all present voted to go into closed session.
Mayor Crowe closed the public portion of the city’s final meeting of 2025 with remarks thanking staff and noting dedication plaques for renovated municipal facilities including a historic building now housing a state-of-the-art police station and the forthcoming municipal court in the Trinity building.
