Committee Clears Fireworks, Seasonal Market and Raffle Permits; Public-safety Measures Noted

The Bedminster Township Committee approved permits at its April 21 meeting for two fireworks displays at Trump National Golf Club — a roughly eight-minute show for a May 10 wedding and an eight-minute Memorial Day display on May 25 — after hearing from Robert Totten, director of security for the club, about fire-department approvals and police support for road closures.
"May 10th is for a wedding. It is going to be approximately... an 8-minute show," Totten said, noting that the Bedminster Fire Department approved the permits, fire trucks will be on site and the Bedminster Police Department will manage a road closure on Copper W. He added that residents within 200 feet of the property would be notified in writing.
The committee also approved a seasonal farm market permit for Flounder Brewing Company at the Bedminster Farmers Market (May 24–Dec. 6), a social fair permit for the Steven Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation on May 12 at Trump National Golf Club, a 50/50 raffle benefiting Somerset Health Care Foundation on June 2 at Hamilton Farm Golf Club, and an off-premise merchandise raffle for the New Jersey Golf Association Youth Foundation on July 22 at Hamilton Farm Golf Club. Several of the approvals were by voice vote; the remaining routine permits were approved on the consent agenda by roll call.
Committee members emphasized that public-safety steps — fire-department oversight, police presence and written notice to neighbors — were in place before the approvals were finalized.
