The Bedminster Township Committee on April 7 introduced the township's 2025 municipal budget after completing six work sessions with department directors and staff. The mayor and committee members praised Administrator Robin Ray for preparing the detailed proposal and scheduled a public presentation for May 5.
Committee members said the total general appropriations discussed during the meeting were $13,370,739 (the mayor cited the 2024 comparison figure). The budget review included capital budgeting, debt service and revenue projections; the committee said further line-item details will be reviewed at the May presentation.
Administrator Robin Ray said the budget process included participation from police, fire and other municipal departments, and noted the administration also pursued grant opportunities to offset costs. The committee emphasized that every member participated in detailed budget reviews during the work sessions.
A resolution to introduce the budget (resolution 2025072) was approved by roll-call vote. The committee will complete required advertising and procedural steps leading to the May public presentation and subsequent hearings.
The meeting record shows the committee intends to finalize line edits before budget advertising; members asked staff to correct minor typographical items in the advertised documents.
