At its Jan. 20 meeting the Millington Township Board approved several administrative items: an update to the Wilkinson contract, authorization for board members and staff to attend the Michigan Townships Association (MTA) conference, and a motion asking the planning commission to revise the township sign ordinance as recommended by the township attorney.
A motion to update the Wilkinson contract — specifically to change LuAnne’s name to Robert’s name in the contract text — was approved unanimously after a motion by S. Keinath supported by R. Loomis.
The board also approved attendance at the MTA conference scheduled for March 31–April 3, 2025, authorizing township payment of registration (estimated $400–$425 per person), housing and a $50 per diem for meals; the motion allowed township board, deputy clerk, deputy treasurer and the zoning administrator to attend.
Finally, following advice from the township attorney, a motion by L. Jaruzel and supported by R. Loomis asked the planning commission to revise the sign ordinance to bring it into greater compliance with state law; the motion passed with all Ayes except S. Keinath who recorded a Nay.
