Millington Township’s board voted unanimously March 17 to allow the Southern Link Trail group to use the township’s municipal Tax ID when applying for a grant from the Tuscola Community Foundation and to provide the group $5,000.
At the meeting, Dale Fuller asked whether the trail group could use the township Tax ID for the grant. Sharon said she would work with the group on grant writing. The motion to permit use of the municipal Tax ID and to have Trustee S. Keinath work with Fackler on grant preparation passed with all board members voting aye.
The board also reviewed the Southern Link Trail budget and recorded no questions. The $5,000 contribution was approved by motion of S. Keinath with L. Jaruzel supporting; recorded ayes included Jaruzel, Keinath, Loomis, Cameron and Cook.
The decision does not include stipulations about project oversight or timelines; the board recorded only authorization for use of the Tax ID, staff assistance with the grant, and the one-time contribution.
