"Due to the rise in chemical costs, a 9% increase is anticipated for the upcoming year," Seago said.
Council members did not take an immediate vote but signaled interest in reviewing the full report, which the minutes note is on file with the city. Warren Edwards later told the council during public comment that the program had performed well this year.
The council will consider the budget impact and any contract adjustments at a subsequent meeting when the item is placed on the agenda.
